Lilo Ungaro Crash

Lilo’s collaboration with Emanuel Ungaro started off with a twist on classic Ungaro that hints at a flirty youthful Ungaro. But this new Ungaro girl is a bit too wild, too naive, too energetic. And she ends up being a laughingstock standing in the haute shoes of the older, classier, sexier Ungaro lady.

lesson learned:

don’t go out partying only to return swasted to finish a project due the next day…
or you’ll end up with sequined hearts on your forehead.

with that said, i only picked out the outfits that I thought best described the progression of this trainwreck. There are some decent pieces in the collection that got overshadowed by other poorly designed pieces and by poor styling.

If you’re a fan of uniqlo, american apparel, or more broadly -> the idea of simple and well designed products, you will surely fall in love with Slow and Steady Wins the Race. They describe themselves as a bimonthly fashion diary and strive to “produce interesting and significant pieces from the simplest fabrics and materials.”

and of course, they also happen to carry a line of lace ups!

I usually like my shoes way more structured (see my previous post on the acne shoes), but these have defined hard edges while still looking soft and delicate. They are made out of light denim! Only neg. is that they come only in the color pictured above. It’s going to be hard to keep these babies clean!

if you’re interested in design, you should really check out their site slowandsteadywinstherace.com and read the about/manifesto and browse through all the beautifully designed pieces!!

j’adore!!!!!!!! Acne SS09 collection. “Striking” shoe. This particular color is no longer available on the website. Why is it that only men have access to the most adorable pairs of lace up shoes??? I have yet to find a stunning pair women’s lace ups. I think I might just end up getting men’s shoes. I wonder if they make these in size 6.5 women’s…
